Sports at Saviour

At Saint Saviour High School, we believe in developing the whole student-athlete—physically, intellectually, and spiritually. Our athletics program is committed to fostering teamwork, discipline, and leadership both on and off the field. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or trying a new sport for the first time, we offer a wide range of opportunities for our students to excel and grow in a supportive environment.

Athletics Fees

A fee of $300 is due for each sport played, except for Cheerleading and Swim, which are $325 each. This fee helps support the cost of transportation, equipment, and other athletic expenses. Once you make the team, please make checks payable to Saint Saviour High School and bring them to the office.

You can also pay the fee online by here.

If you have any questions about the fee or other athletics-related inquiries, please contact the office at 718-768-4406.

Commitment to Student-Athletes

Saint Saviour’s Athletics Program is designed to help each student-athlete grow not only in their chosen sport but also in their personal development. We emphasize the importance of academics, leadership, and sportsmanship, both during practices and competitions.

  • Physical Growth: Our dedicated coaching staff works to improve the athletic abilities of each student, guiding them to reach their full potential.

  • Educational Growth: We stress the importance of balancing academics with athletics, encouraging our athletes to excel in the classroom as well as in competition.

  • Spiritual Growth: As a Catholic institution, Saint Saviour encourages our student-athletes to develop strong character, embrace teamwork, and demonstrate respect for others on and off the field.

Participation Guidelines

Saint Saviour High School is committed to providing every student with an opportunity to participate in athletics, but we also have guidelines in place to ensure that each athlete can devote the time and attention required to be successful in their sport.

One Sport Per Season: Student-athletes may participate in only one sport per season. If a sport’s season overlaps with another, the athlete will finish the first sport's season before trying out for the second. We believe this ensures athletes can give their full attention and effort to each commitment they make.

Health & Safety

We prioritize the health and safety of our athletes. All student-athletes are required to submit a completed health exam form before participating in tryouts or practices. This form is available in your Magnus account and must be submitted annually.

Additionally, we are proud to provide access to a dedicated sports medical team to assist with injury prevention and recovery, ensuring our athletes are in top physical condition for their performances.

Saint Saviour Pride

Our athletics program is an essential part of our school community. Participation in sports fosters a sense of school pride and helps build strong relationships between students, faculty, staff, and alumnae. Through hard work and dedication, our athletes represent Saint Saviour with honor and commitment.

We encourage all of our students to get involved, whether by joining a team, cheering on our athletes, or supporting through volunteerism. Our school spirit is fueled by the shared experiences of competition, teamwork, and mutual respect.
