Studio Art Program

The studio art program at Saint Saviour begins with an Introduction to Art Theory & History, where freshmen learn design fundamentals and explore key art movements. Sophomore students advance to Studio Art, working with various media to create projects that showcase their growing skill set. All sophomore art projects are displayed in the Annual Art Show, a celebrated event that brings the school community together to admire the work of young artists.

For students with a serious interest in visual arts, our Advanced Studio Art course offers a year-long deep dive into media like oil painting, graphite, charcoal, sculpture, and wood burning. These students often work on individualized projects, reflecting their artistic goals and developing portfolios that can be used for college

applications. Classes often extend outdoors to capture the surrounding historic architecture, providing real-world inspiration and context for students' work.

Our art students also have opportunities to participate in art-related clubs, engage in exhibitions, and even lead workshops, reinforcing their leadership skills and artistic expression. Through these courses and activities, students refine their technique, build their portfolios, and gain an appreciation for both the creative process and the art community at large.
