On November 7, Theatre Arts students attended the Broadway play Jaja’s African Hair Braiding! This hilarious and heartwarming play tells the story of a community of women who work in and visit Jaja’s hair braiding shop, their life stories, their passions, their struggles, and how they come together in the face of uncertainty. This perfectly tied in with our class studies on playwriting, acting, and analyzing the play Steel Magnolias, another piece all about hair culture and women building community.
